If We’re Not Forever, I hope You’re Loved Better
When We’re No Longer ‘Us’
If we can’t be together in the end, I hope your future loves you better than I did. I hope they see all the beautiful things in you that I sometimes overlooked in my own struggles. I hope they make you feel seen, heard, and cherished in ways that I couldn’t always manage. I hope they love you in a way that you feel safe and in peace.
It’s bittersweet to know that we may never be what we once dreamed of. But if that’s our reality, I don’t want to hold on to regrets. I want to let go with grace, knowing that someone else will have the chance to give you everything that I couldn’t.
I hope they love you in way’s that heal you.
I hope they understand the depth of your heart, that they never take you for granted. I hope they are patient and kind, and they always choose you, even when things get hard. Because that’s what you truly deserve.
Loving you changed me. You taught me to open my heart, to see things differently, and even in pain, I’ve grown. But if I am not meant for you, I hope that they still cherish that same light in you that I had the honor of knowing.
Sometimes we don’t get the endings we imagined. But even in that, there’s a kind of beauty. It’s knowing that life continues, that love continues — even if it’s not with us. And so, I send you forward with love, with the hope that someone else will give you the kind of love that lasts.
